Cavere — Results Disclaimer v1.0
Effective date: August 11, 2026

This disclaimer is part of the Cavere Terms of Service and applies to every scan result, report, count, risk level, and classification produced by the Service.

Findings are classifications, not accusations

Cavere is an automated detection tool. Its outputs are probabilistic classifications generated by software:

  • A domain listed as a “lookalike candidate” or “suspicious”, with a HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW risk level, is a domain whose characteristics (such as name similarity, registration data, or page content) resemble patterns associated with company impersonation. It is not a statement that the domain is a scam, is fraudulent, or is operated with any wrongful intent. Many flagged domains have entirely legitimate explanations — parked domains, fan sites, unrelated businesses with similar names, or the company’s own forgotten registrations.
  • A seller listed as “unverified” is a seller that does not appear on the authorized-reseller list you maintain in your Cavere account. That is the entire meaning of the classification. It is not a statement that the seller is unauthorized, is selling counterfeit goods, or is doing anything improper. Legitimate resellers, distributors you forgot to list, and lawful secondary-market sellers will all appear as “unverified” if they are not on your list.

No Cavere output is a legal determination, an allegation, or evidence of fraud, counterfeiting, infringement, or any other wrongdoing by anyone.

Results can be incomplete

Scans draw on external data sources — DNS records, certificate transparency logs, web search, and marketplace data APIs — that can be incomplete, delayed, or temporarily unavailable. Search providers can block or rate-limit queries; marketplace data can lag or omit listings; individual regions can be skipped in a given scan (the report indicates when this happens). Because of this:

  • A clean result is not a guarantee of absence. A scan that finds nothing does not mean no impersonation sites or unlisted sellers exist.
  • Findings can be wrong in both directions. Scans can miss real problems and can flag benign domains and sellers.

Verify before you act

You are solely responsible for independently verifying any finding before taking action on it. Filing takedown requests, submitting marketplace complaints, sending legal letters, contacting sellers, or making any public statement about a third party based on a Cavere finding is your decision and your responsibility. Cavere does not provide legal advice and is not liable for actions you take based on findings, as set out in the Terms of Service.

If in doubt about a finding, consult a lawyer before acting on it.
